New Zealand Blues, Roots & Groove Festival

The New Zealand Blues, Roots & Groove Festival will feature national, regional, local artists both established and emerging and when possible an international, component will be added, all from the genres of blues, roots, gospel, country,  ska, rock and soul. 

The Festival is a four-day event to be held during the first weekend of September each year, with the first event taking place in 2022.

An Incorporated Charitable Trust will organise the Festival and also manage the non-profit Blues ‘n Roots Foundation to support Blues ‘n Roots music in the Schools and youth music education programme.

The key components of the Festival are:

A ticketed event will be held at the Globe Theatre, 312 Main Street, Palmerston North - the four-day festival will allow patrons to purchase a VIP Card, giving VIP ticket holders access to shows and the Blues educational offerings with massive discounts on ticketed events.
There we will a café series based around selected bar/cafes in Palmerston North which will be FREE.
Looking forward to 2023 and as away of encourage the Blues & Roots style of music amongst youth musicians and schools in the area, we plan to run a concert  at the Globe Theatre which will feature high school and youth-based bands. This event will also have a mentoring component by selected professionals from within the genre of music. Any suggestions regarding this part of the festival, the organisers would love to receive feedback.
